Commission Process:
Prior to submitting your portrait request, you should review samples of my other portraits to insure that my style will meet your expectations.
All pet portraits are hand-painted originals of your pet. Although your pet's portrait is created primarily from photos, I do not simply trace and colorize them. I strive to capture the personality as well as likeness of your pet.
People portraits can be created from photos or in combination with live sittings. Facial detail, good lighting, true color, gestures and clarity are very important. Multiple digital photos are preferred. Travel expenses for sittings, if required, must be paid in advance. Once again, I do not simply trace and colorize photos.
To start a portrait, your photos, a deposit of 50% and a mutually approved design are required. Should you decide to cancel your portrait once started, your deposit will be forfeited. Completion of a portrait may require several weeks. Normally, a pet portrait will require about 4 weeks to complete from receipt of deposit and approved design. A minimum of 3 months is required for human portraits.
You will be sent a digital photo of your pet's completed portrait for approval. Any balance due and shipping costs are required prior to delivery of you portrait. Portraits may be returned within 14 days from receipt of delivery for a full refund. After 14 days, portraits are non-refundable. If your portrait is a gift, you should allow for extra completion time around holidays such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or Christmas. Gift certificates are also available.
