Commission Process:
A portrait requires many hours to accurately capture your loved ones likeness. A deposit of approximately 50% of the base price (see pricing) and a mutually approved design is required to start your portrait. Prior to submitting your portrait request, you should review samples of my other portraits to insure that my style will meet your expectations. Once your portrait has been started, only adjustments for likeness will be made without additonal costs. Should you decide to cancel your portrait, your deposit will be forfeited.
Pet portraits are created primarily from photos. Multiple digital photos of your pet are preferred. I do not just trace, copy or enlarge and colorize photos. You will be getting a hand-painted original artwork.
People portraits can be created from photos or in combination with live sittings. Facial detail, good lighting, true color, gestures and clarity are very important. Multiple digital photos are preferred. Travel expenses for sittings, if required, must be paid in advance. Once again, I do not just trace, copy or enlarge and colorize photos. You will be getting a hand-painted original artwork.
Generally portrait completion will take 6 to 8 weeks from receipt of deposit and approved design. You will be sent a photo version of your portrait for review. Final balance due and shipping costs are required before a completed portrait will be delivered. Additional time for holiday delivery such as Valentine's Day, Mothers Day or Christmas should be expected. Gift certificates are also available.
